Please feel free to friend me (comment here letting me know who you are!) and I'll figure out how to friend you back. I am open to new friends but generally this is going to be a highly selective journal!

OKAY, so, this is just a place to track trades I owe. LMK if you no longer need a certain 'mon when/if trading comes around so I can open them up for someone else.

kaitmaree: (mystique)
OKAY so I obviously spoke to some of you on the planning post but I wanted to expand/gauge interest re: who I plan on having in Darrow 2 plot so far.

My main plans revolve around 616 Mystique. She's coming right out of the end of the first part of Get Mystique wherein Logan has been tracking her down and leaves her in the desert with a gun and the message that she'll "figure out what it's for." Not angsty whatsoever, she'll be thrilled to blink and wind up in an alternate dimension fo sho.

I've spoken to Laine and really want her to have a role in Eames' team of extractors, and of course will be playing her off of Melly's Theresa because that's going to be fucking awesome.

Is anyone else interested in having their pups thread with the more villainous side of Raven Darkholme? Let me know because I want to make the most of this opportunity.

ETA: I have an "arrival" post for Mystique, here.

Next up is Aimee Finecky who will be arriving straight after her Darrow departure. I mostly want her to know about TJ's wedding because feeeeeeels, but it would mean a lot if I could get a Gwen thread and also anyone who knew her before. Or wants to know her briefly now. She's the sweetest girl imaginable though she does battle alcoholism and has had a somewhat traumatic past.

Also kind of weighing up bringing back Ree Dolly who actually got to fulfill her dream of joining the army? IDK if I have enough time or if there's many who would be up for threading with her. But I miss her. There's also the possibility of Kathy H, who I think would be interesting to play once she's completed one of her first donations.

ANYONE INTERESTED? I am playing Mystique and Aimee either way but let's talk about things.
kaitmaree: (mindy: what is this face even)
Not much has changed from last time, anyway. So just tell me who you want to thread with? I have an Abby, a Kathy, a Mindy, a Finnick, an Aimee, a Raven, an Arya and hopefully soon a Ree Dolly. And then one day a Pat Peoples I stg you guys he is coming.

Let me know who you'd like to see EPs from, private posts from, etc.

Please.
kaitmaree: (THG: pin)
Okay. So, I've seen Catching Fire twice now and while I don't think my thoughts are yet particularly coherent (one more viewing, maybe?), I'm going to try and post the promised review. Or reaction/general thoughts, really. My review is: I absolutely loved it.

SPOILARZ.  )

Also, Darrow folks, if you don't follow me on Twitter I think I'm going to app Finnick Odair. Where this came from, I don't know. Oh, wait, yes, I do. It came from Johanna in the TD and all of the feels that gave me, so I thought, hey, I'll throw Finnick in here just for kicks and then perfect Johanna and perfect Katniss and how can I not want to be a part of this? So I'm practice threading with Laine and crying always over how perfect her prose is and I'll probably have him in by the end of the year. After Maggie.

Just recording this stuff because I thought it was interesting. Somebody posted about Myers-Briggs on Twitter (Shane?) which prompted everyone to retake theirs and I am, as always, INFJ. Which is the less interesting part. I wanted to share tidbits from the results for the pups I've done so far, some of which have been kind of incredibly fucking on point. And validating as a player.

AVERY CROSS - THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES - ENTJ - The Executive

Assertive and outspoken - they are driven to lead. Excellent ability to understand difficult organizational problems and create solid solutions. Intelligent and well-informed, they usually excel at public speaking. They value knowledge and competence, and usually have little patience with inefficiency or disorganization... There is not much room for error in the world of the ENTJ. They dislike to see mistakes repeated... ENTJs are very forceful, decisive individuals. They make decisions quickly, and are quick to verbalize their opinions and decisions to the rest of the world. The ENTJ who has not developed their Intuition will make decisions too hastily, without understanding all of the issues and possible solutions. Although ENTJs are not naturally tuned into other people's feelings, these individuals frequently have very strong sentimental streaks. Often these sentiments are very powerful to the ENTJ, although they will likely hide it from general knowledge, believing the feelings to be a weakness. Because the world of feelings and values is not where the ENTJ naturally functions, they may sometimes make value judgments and hold onto submerged emotions which are ill-founded and inappropriate, and will cause them problems - sometimes rather serious problems.

STRENGTHS:
Fair-minded and interested in doing the Right Thing
Verbally fluent
Usually have strong affections and sentimental streaks
Able to dole out discipline

WEAKNESSES
Tend to get involved in "win-lose" conversations
If unhappy or underdeveloped, they may be very impersonal, dictatorial, or abrasive
Tendency to make hasty decisions
Make explode with terrible tempers when under extreme stress (I wasn't sure about this, but then I remembered yelling at Jennifer when she was talking to him about leaving the force, yelling at AJ to leave Jason alone and his demanding to know what had happened to AJ at the close of the film.)

And, interestingly, as parents: They're likely to place much emphasis on their children being well-educated and structured. During the teen years, we are likely to see a child rebel from their relationship with the ENTJ.

FINNICK ODAIR - THE HUNGER GAMES - ISTP - The Mechanic

Quiet and reserved, interested in how and why things work. Excellent skills with mechanical things. Risk-takers who they live for the moment. Usually interested in and talented at extreme sports... and have very good hand-eye coordination. Their sense of adventure and desire for constant action makes ISTPs prone to becoming bored rather quickly. Uncomplicated in their desires. Loyal to their peers and to their internal value systems, but not overly concerned with respecting laws and rules if they get in the way of getting something done. Detached and analytical, they excel at finding solutions to practical problems. An ISTP who is down on themself will foray into the world of value judgments - a place which is not natural for the ISTP - and judge themself by their inability to perform some task.

STRENGTHS
Good listeners
Usually self-confident
Able to administer punishment, although they're not interested in doing so
Likely to respect other's needs for space and privacy
Are not threatened by conflict or criticism

WEAKNESSES
Tendency to be overly private and hold back part of themselves
Need a lot of personal space, which they don't like to have invaded
They thrive on action and excitement, and may stir things up to create it
Not naturally good at expressing feelings and emotions

As friends: ISTPs have an enthusiastic, childlike approach to life that is attractive to others. As Introverted Thinkers, they also have some real substance to them which prevents them from being entirely frivolous and hedonic in their pursuits. They are laid-back and flexible, and generally accepting of a wide range of behavior. These attributes make them valued friends and confidantes.

And, because I'm a dick, as parents: ISTPs will enjoy spending one-on-one time with their children pursuing outdoorsy activities, such as fishing, boating, hunting, etc.

MINDY LAHIRI - THE MINDY PROJECT - ENFP - The Inspirer*
*hilariously, she got 100% for extraversion

Enthusiastic, idealistic, and creative. Able to do almost anything that interests them. Great people skills. Need to live life in accordance with their inner values. Excited by new ideas, but bored with details. Open-minded and flexible, with a broad range of interests and abilities... once an ENFP has learned to balance their need to be true to themselves with their need for acceptance, they excel at bringing out the best in others, and are typically well-liked. The gift of gab which they are blessed with makes it naturally easy for them to get what they want. They are perfectionists who believe that any form of criticism is a stab at their character, which is very difficult for them to take.

STRENGTHS
Good communication skills
Very perceptive about people's thought and motives
Motivational, inspirational; bring out the best in others
Warmly affectionate and affirming
Fun to be with - lively sense of humor, dramatic, energetic, optimistic
Strive for "win-win" situations
Driven to meet other's needs
Usually loyal and dedicated

WEAKNESSES
Tendency to be smothering
Their enthusiasm may lead them to be unrealistic
Uninterested in dealing with "mundane" matters such as cleaning, paying bills, etc.
Hold onto bad relationships long after they've turned bad
Extreme dislike of conflict
Extreme dislike of criticism
Constant quest for the perfect relationship may make them change relationships frequently (HAHAHAHAHAHA.)
May become bored easily

Aaand in relationships: There are a couple of difficult relationship areas for the ENFP. The first problem is that many ENFPs have a problem leaving bad relationships. They tend to internalize any problems and take them on their own shoulders, believing that the success or failure of the relationship is their own responsibility. As perfectionists, they don't like to admit defeat, and will stick with bad situations long after they should have left. When they do leave the relationship, they will believe that the failure was their fault, and that there was surely something they could have done to save the relationship. The ENFP needs to be given positive assurance and affirmation. More than one ENFP has been known to "go fishing" for compliments.

ABBY - PAPER MAN - INFP - THE IDEALISTS

Quiet, reflective, and idealistic. Interested in serving humanity. Well-developed value system, which they strive to live in accordance with. Extremely loyal. Adaptable and laid-back unless a strongly-held value is threatened. Usually talented writers.** Mentally quick, and able to see possibilities. Interested in understanding and helping people. INFPs are highly intuitive about people. They rely heavily on their intuitions to guide them, and use their discoveries to constantly search for value in life. They are on a continuous mission to find the truth and meaning underlying things. Generally thoughtful and considerate, INFPs are good listeners and put people at ease. Although they may be reserved in expressing emotion, they have a very deep well of caring and are genuinely interested in understanding people. This sincerity is sensed by others, making the INFP a valued friend and confidante. An INFP can be quite warm with people he or she knows well.

They don't want to feel badly.
This trait sometimes makes them appear irrational and illogical in conflict situations. Without resolving this conflict, they will never be happy with themselves, and they may become confused and paralyzed about what to do with their lives. NFPs who function in their well-developed sides can accomplish great and wonderful things, which they will rarely give themselves credit for.

**This is never explored in the movie, but I think it's interesting because the book is about Richard, a writer, and how she helps him finally break through.

STRENGTHS
Warmly concerned and caring towards others
Sensitive and perceptive about what others are feeling
Loyal and committed - they want lifelong relationships
Deep capacity for love and caring
Driven to meet other's needs
Nurturing, supportive and encouraging
Likely to recognize and appreciate other's need for space

WEAKNESSES
Strong need to receive praise and positive affirmation
May react very emotionally to stressful situations
Have difficulty leaving a bad relationship
Perfectionistic tendencies may cause them to not give themselves enough credit
Tendency to blame themselves for problems, and hold everything on their own shoulders
(no shit.)

KATHY H - NEVER LET ME GO - INFJ - THE PROTECTOR

Quietly forceful, original, and sensitive. Tend to stick to things until they are done. Extremely intuitive about people, and concerned for their feelings. Well-developed value systems which they strictly adhere to. Well-respected for their perseverance in doing the right thing. Likely to be individualistic***, rather than leading or following. They put a lot of energy into identifying the best system for getting things done, and constantly define and re-define the priorities in their lives. On the other hand, INFJs operate within themselves on an intuitive basis which is entirely spontaneous. They know things intuitively, without being able to pinpoint why, and without detailed knowledge of the subject at hand. They are usually right, and they usually know it.

They are deep, complex individuals, who are quite private and typically difficult to understand. INFJs hold back part of themselves, and can be secretive. But the INFJ is as genuinely warm as they are complex. INFJs hold a special place in the heart of people who they are close to, who are able to see their special gifts and depth of caring. INFJs are concerned for people's feelings, and try to be gentle to avoid hurting anyone. INFJ is a natural nurturer; patient, devoted and protective. The INFJ individual is gifted in ways that other types are not. Life is not necessarily easy for the INFJ, but they are capable of great depth of feeling and personal achievement.

***Remember Ruth's imitation of the celebrities on the talk shows they watched, and Kathy's annoyance of her following the crowd like that?

STRENGTHS
Warm and affirming by nature
Dedicated to achieving the ultimate relationship
Sensitive and concerned for others' feelings
Usually have good communication skills, especially written
Take their commitments very seriously, and seek lifelong relationships
Have very high expectations for themselves and others (both a strength and weakness)
Good listeners

WEAKNESSES
Tendency to hold back part of themselves
Extreme dislike of conflict and criticism
Have very high expectations for themselves and others (both a strength and weakness)

I took the test here.
